Every dataset we use
This is the full register: where each dataset comes from, what license it carries and where to download it yourself. Nothing on PaidFor runs without a row here.
Sources
Every number on this site comes from a public record. Here they all are. Download them, check our work, or ask the sources chatbot.
The chatbot answers only from these records and links them. It can be wrong. The records can't.

Restricted states
States marked "Held back" above restrict reuse of their official data; see each row's portal link.
Members-elect are listed from certification and take office Jan 3. Version 1 covers federal officials; states and local offices come next.
Restricted states
A dozen states restrict how contributor-level data can be used. For those, we show aggregates only and link to the state's own portal rather than re-publish the raw file. See the Coverage page for the full list and what it means for each state.
